Reiki is a form of energy healing. The term Reiki is rooted in the Japanese translation of Universal (Rei) life force energy (Ki). Ki and Qi (as it is known as in Chinese medicine) are the same concept: a constant flow of energy, much like a flowing river, that is without a beginning or and end that connects everything to everything. Energy can become imbalanced or even stagnant, and when this happens it may be recognized in physical or emotional symptoms and/or behaviors.

Reiki is used as a way to restore imbalances in energy. As a practitioner I use a technique referred to as palm healing to bring universal energy to the client to encourage emotional and/or physical restoration and pain relief, reduce stress and increase relaxation, and to promote overall health and healing. Though there seems to be no specific agreed upon definition to adequately explain how or why Reiki works, the only way to truly understand it is to experience it for yourself.

Everything is energy. Your thought begins it, your emotion amplifies it, and your action increases it’s momentum.
